Display Screen Resolution

Monitor is 15" CRT - Video Card TNT2 Model 64 32 RAM! I'm confused
as Windows XP using this same card and monitor is able to
display higher screen resolution choices. This is my first attempt
using Ubuntu and Linux per se. I have a ways to go but I like what I
see with Ubuntu.
