changing display resolution

First try at using Kubuntu, the default screen resolution is much too
high for
my monitor, how do I change it?

Click on the KDE button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen then on
"System Settings" then on "Monitor & Display" at which point you should click on
the Administrator button in the bottom right-hand corner of the window (the
password is the your password to log into your account) which will then allow
you to change your resolution.
