Disk Utility in 9.10 - broken?

Date: Dec 04    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 319

I think a recent update might have broken the "Palimpsest Disk Utility" in 9.10.
Can somebody confirm this?

This handy tool is under "System" | "Administration" | "Disk Utility". It is
supposed to read the S.M.A.R.T. data from most modern hard drives, and display
it in a user friendly form.

My on-disk installation used to work, but now just reports "SMART is not
available". The utility still works if I boot off of the CD, though.

Just me? Or is this a global problem?
