Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop Edition on my Laptop

I am Using
Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop Edition on my Laptop. Can any one tell me how play music,
video, and execute exe files on that. i also want to know where from I get all
the additional softwares free of Cost.

Use additional repositories to get software. Learn to use Synaptic Package
Manager.
