Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 05

That probably happened because you have to reboot to see the changes in xorg
as the kernel based drivers start before X can start. You would have been
running on the old setup until you rebooted. It is the same when you upgrade
the kernel. You don't have to reboot after an upgrade, but when you do you
get the new kernel with its changes.
