Date: Jan 23    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 231

Got some updates today and following download went to Synaptic to apply
Miro and got this:

*Could not mark all packages or upgrade.*
miro:
Depends: libxine1 (<1.1.8) but 1.1.10-1~gutsy1 is to be installed

How can I resolve this on 7.10.

Open up the terminal and type in

sudo aptitude install ***program name****
use no spaces in the program name.

That did it - thank you very much. When I opened Miro it crashed once, I
started it again and it runs fine. However I don't understand what
happened - nor the fix :-( . Another thing, the Terminal background is
transparent showing my desk top through - makes the text real hard to
see - any ideas? Below is the fix as you suggested. Thanks again.

Couldn't find package "Miro". However, the following
packages contain "Miro" in their name:
miro miro-theme-ted-talks miro-data
The following packages have been kept back:

0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used.

Oh do not use CAPS in the letter M. The linux program language is caps
sensitive. As for the terminal being transparent. It may be your desktop
settings.
