Error on update

  Date: Jan 03    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 289

I am newbie in Ubuntu. This is the first time I'm using linux.
I installed ubuntu. There is update notification, but then when I update,
there's an error something like this,

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct
the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

What is the problem actually? How it should be overcome?

Either he line connection was interupeted or the update was close out while
installing. This is a easy fix. Go to Applications>Terminal
Open up the terminal
type this command in

sudo dpkg --configure -a

enter you pass word. It should be the same password you logged into the splash
screen with. Let it do its' mojo and you'll be smiling. The system told you what
you need to do. It just did not say how to do it.
