WINE/Notepad

When I upgraded from 7.04 to 7.10, wine was listed in my apps menu.
But when I pulled up notepad under WINE, my desktop crashed (more precisely...
froze)
I uninstalled WINE rebooted and reinstalled WINE (Notepad came back with it...
and froze the OS again)

Forget M$ Notepad and use "gedit".

have you tried running anything else under WINE? On my machine notepad
and everything else I have tried under WINE works so I have no
immediate advise.

what are your goals for WINE?
