Printer and startup services

I cannot find any system settings for installation of a printer or to edit
things like startup services.

Click on System > Administration > Printing.

Click on System > Services

On my Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid staring services is controlled by System,
Preferences, Startup Applications.

Well my printer install but it turns out its become faulty int he last few weeks
it was turned off, unless perhaps it has inncorect drivers? The printer
cartridge makes nasty noises, just goes back and forth ver the same bit lots of
times, some lines of text come out fine and the ubuntu symbol came out fine,
from a test print, so not sure whats going on.

System > Services
Its directly under printing in 9.04.

mine says Software Sources under printing.

Both of my computers have Services next.

You are on 9.04 - right?

Can you take a screen shot of your menu open and post to in the group
pictures so we can see what you are seeing.

I can't say for sure because I am a KDE guy but I have GNOME on my netbook.
It says Startup Applications in 10.04..
