Printer problem after upgrading to 10.04

My printer, a Canon PIXMA iP90 worked well (with limited capabilities compared
to Windows XP) on Karmic Koala 09.10 after I had installed the relevant drivers
downloaded from Canon.
It stopped working after upgrade to Lucid Lynx 10.04 : the printer seemed to be
recognized, all tasks were considered in a fraction of a second to be completed
but actually nothing was done.
I tried several procedures found on various forums but nothing worked.
Eventually I succeeded in having this printer working very nicely with all
capabilities found on Windows XP after downloading the TurboPrint2.15-1 from
http://www.zedonet.com/en_home.phtml
This is a 30 days free test version, after which I have to buy a key to remove
the TurboPrint banner which would otherwise be printed on all printed documents.
For the moment I am very much satisfied and should proceed with this nice
software.
