10.04 Password change

Date: Dec 03    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 466

Installing 10.04 the Caps Lock was on when I entered the password. I spelled it
correctly both time and Ubuntu took it. Now when I try to change it the software
complains that it is too simple. Its a 6 character PW. Is there anyway of
entering a 6 character PW?

It should warn but ultimately allow you to make your own choice. It
did not care for my choice but allowed it.

You change the password in System, Administration, Users and Groups.

Chang the password as root, and it will take it, even though it might
complain about it.

From the command line, passwd allows any password.
