Connecting to wireless......

Date: Dec 27    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 272

I have a very recent iMac and just received my copy of Ubuntu 7.10......

I connect to the internet via wireless.

While Ubuntu detects the wireless in the device listing, it doesn't
allow me to select it, nor does it show it in the network manager.

I'd like to turn the wireless on and have it show in the network
manager........ which doesn't show it and must do so to allow me to do
any setting with it........ as best as I can tell from the Ubuntu
directions.

This reminds me of my days with my Amiga's.

Any suggestions?

Where do I look for info to fix this?

Would this work if I installed Ubuntu on a hard drive? It finds the wireless,
just won't let
me turn it on to use it....
