Best thing to do is do a standard Ubuntu installation from the CD you
have acquired. You have choices to keep your XP or forget about saving
it unless you need it for some special programme that won't run under
Wine. Wubi is only intended as a trial run for those who only want to
try Ubuntu out. It always gives less than optimal results with many
limitations, slow speed being only one of them.
