Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 27

Here is what google has told me so far:

www.nvidia.com/.../...x_display_ia32_1.0-9755.html

It tells me I have to get the 'legacy' bundle so that is what I got.

The driver I needed was at:
www.nvidia.com/.../linux_display_x86_96.43.05.html

I tried sudo telinit (and sudo init) 1, 3, 5, and S.
After I did the sudo telinit S my keyboard did not work so I rebooted.

Right now I am stuck, trying to figure out how to kill server x so as to
install the nVidia drivers.
