In an attempt to understand this problem, I have downloaded both Jaunty and
Hardy and built live CD's
I booted an older desktop to Hardy Live and downloaded EasyCam2 after updating
the repositories for the French site for EasyCam2. The program downloaded and
installed on Hardy fine, with all dependencies. EasyCam2 recognized both the
VX-3000 and the Micro Innovations cameras, but both pictures were very dark and
poor quality.
This leads to another question. When booting either Hardy or Jaunty from CD with
the demo mode, and I d/l updates or software, where is the D/L info stored?
When I build the desktop I made partitions with the Jaunty permanent install to
include a partition for Jaunty and a data partition. Is the data partition on
the HD being used?
