Springsource is alive because they are creative and innovative. If OSGI really can bring us what Mr. Rod Johnson is promising, then it can become another de facto like spring  itself. I am happy that nowadays startups dare to go beyond standards to become a de facto. I am not fenatic about a special kind of technology as they all have great impact upon eachother (like EJB2 and spring and spring and EJB 3). Efforts never become standards unless they bring us productivity.
