Use Ctrl+Alt and arrow keys or you can change it in the settings to
anything that you want. Type keyboard shortcuts into
Dash and you can customise the keyboard shortcuts.

I have avoided Unity like the plague having heard so
much negative feedback on it then decided to give it a try. I actually
like the interface and have decided to keep it on my main system. I'm
currently running Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit version. One of the things that I
did miss was the workspace gadget being a one click to go from one
workspace to another. I will try it with the keyboard.

Another thing I have never found in Unity is any type of a screen saver
other than turn the screen off. Again not a big deal but I have searched
the help files and looked at all of the system setting screens without any
luck. I had a number of utilities that I normally set on my task bar which
apparently I can't do in Unity. The one I miss the most is the little
weather gadget that shows the current temp and cloud conditions. When you
clicked on it you got a tabbed folder with current conditions, the forecast
and radar screen. Haven't found the equivalent for that yet either. Still
I like Unity enough that I'm going to stick with it for a while and give it
a real chance.

As to the screensaver, look in Synaptic (or your preferred software
manager, e.g. Ubuntu Store or whatever it's called :-)) for
xscreensaver. It's everything you'd expect. But what a peculiar omission.

There is a description of the problem and why it happened here:

There are also some solutions given.

There is a cities scope for Unity that gives the weather. See:

Here is a good list of Unity tips:
askubuntu.com/.../tips-and-tricks-for-unity

One of the subsections has a link to install the weather app for the panel,
but apparently it uses lots of memory.
