Ubuntu to the Rescue

a large fact about me is I always find a way to damage my
computer and require reinstall.... since I am prone to this I have
sufficient backups in place to avoid beyond repair damage; since my music
library changes constantly because I increase the size of my library I
don’t back it up regularly, I just keep it on my iPod (which unfortunately
is my only music device...) So last Friday I again required a reinstall
and after going through the lengthy process and reinstalling all of
my software and I "settled" in I was going to move my music collection back
onto my computer.... That is when I figured out another reason for me
to "love" apple products; it only will copy over songs purchased on
iTunes.... Another little fact about me is my music library (which I cannot
live without) is composed 90% of CD's and from friend’s libraries, etc.
soooooooo bottom line is it transferred the 20 songs that I actually
purchased directly from iTunes. After a extremely long weekend of trying to
get windows to get the music off I was reminded that Ubuntu doesn’t use the
"windows+apple" proprietary driver. As soon as I plugged it in I was able
to see the entire root folder of the device (like it should always be) and
was able to recover my music.
