Ubuntu & Puppy

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and sometimes use Puppy 4.1 After trying to
remaster the Puppy disk, I find that I can't boot it anymore. I get a
kernel panic.
This seems to happen after it loads the saved folder from the hard
drive. How do I find the saved folder and delete it so I can start over?
