stylesheet to change color of the error field

I want a small help in java script

i am using a stylesheet to change color of the error field to highlight that
field.
its fine to change that field to normal colour.if i need to change that to a
normal color again i have to do the samething without writing the extra code.
i.e,i need to find which field is highlighted and change that to a normal color
when clicked on the submit button for second time.

i understood that you already have the
solution for the problem that you have stated and you want the same to be done
in different way. if i am wrong.. then please send a mail stating your problem
clearly,,, what actually you wanted,, and what problems you are facing... more
over it is very helpful if you copy paste your code  ....
