is it possible to run macro coded excel documents on a web server?
Instead of using server side scripting languages is it possible yo run
macroed excel files on a web server (even with additional web
components) and if so how?...

Don't really understand what you're asking here.

If a MS-based web  server actually opens an Excel file, it will run  any macros in
the file. But that really has nothing to do with its being a web server.

What are you wanting to achieve by running Excel macros?

The thing i actually wanna do is publish the coded
spreadsheets like php or asp without clients
downloading the full excell file (thus see the code).
I would like excel  files to be run  in the way
scripting languages  (like php,asp...) work.

So you want to have the Excel script run  instead of ASP/PHP as a web  server?
No. Not unless you write your own web server.

I believe that there is ASP code that will convert worksheets to HTML and allow
some of interaction with the individual "cells". Do a Google search and you'll
probably find what you want. (I've never bothered with them, so can't point you
anywhere - all my ASP work is database-based.)
