GRUB from Ubuntu

I am liking the idea of setting up a super fast OS like TinyMe Linux or Mepi
Antix on my desktop pc... I would like to install its boot loader to its
filesystem rather than the pc MBR, how do I go about editing the harddisks MBR
if I do this in order for it to provide the new installations bootloader?
