8.10 can easily create a USB boot disk

While playing with 8.10 after testing the output of "uname -a" on the
64-bit version, I just noticed that from the menu:

System -> Administration -> Create a USB startup disk

and it's gotta be the easiest way to make a bootable USB thumbdrive I've
ever seen: insert the USB thumbdrive, then click [Make Startup Disk].

This works using either a CD image ISO on a disk (or) the Live CD which
is in the CD/DVD drive.

Looks really neat and it's new for 8.10; now I have to find a "spare"
USB thumbdrive to test it.

I would like to see this become a way to backup your distribution so that you
aren't just creating a fresh bootable version, but you can take your installed
applications and data with you on a stick.

Look into "Remastersys" to make an ISO of your current configuration.
Then use this built-in utility.

Does it make a persistent so I could set my own password and it
remember all settings?
