Installing 8.10 concern

I am trying to install 8.10. I get to the screen where one has the
choice to determine where Ubuntu will be installed. Gparted shows my
hard drive sda1 - a small DOS partition FAT 16, sda2 - XP - FAT32,
sda3 - data FAT322, and the balance free space. Previously, I deleted
the partition where Ubuntu 6.06 was installed so I have lots of room
40+Gb. so I chose "Guided - use the largest continuous free space".

My concern: The display at the top shows correctly my "As Is"
hard drive but the "AFTER" display shows " 100% Ubuntu 8.10 " and none
of the other partitions. I would like to assume that this display is
incorrect and the install will do what I want and put Ubuntu in the
free space but am very concerned that it might wipe out sda1, sda2 and
sda3 and the data on them.

I had no problem like this when I installed 6.06 - the AFTER
display was correct showing sda1, sda2, sda3 and 6.06 where it
belonged. Is this a quirk of 8.10 or do I have some other problem?
