I intend to download the drivers from Nvidia after I reinstall Ubuntu.
It also looks like I'll have to use ethernet. I just didn't want to
have to start stringing ethernet all over the place but it looks like
there's no avoiding it.

As for IETab, it should work under Linux since its not really using
any of IE's code but emulating IE or making the website you're
visiting think you're using IE. Firefox extensions are supposed to be
platform-non-specific anyway as long as you ARE using the right
version of Firefox the extension is compatible with.
