I found that the only way I could install Ubuntu on my old 2002 laptop was
to use Wubi.exe. It wouldn't boot from a flash drive and the installations
from CD/DVD would never complete. Wubi itself is an download on the Ubuntu
download page. It in turn downloaded the data from the net and it completed
the install for me, for the first time.
