Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 25

I don't wish to carry this issue further.

I'm led to believe that the network manager GUI
has been causing the problem. I commented out the
line auto eth0 and now it seems that each bootup is
fine in terms of wifi.

I also downloaded wifi radar and will use that when
I need to map to another wifi hotspot and at some point
I will probably dump the network manager GUI entirely.
