Ubuntu on Dell Inspiron 8200

Date: Dec 31    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 572

I'm trying to load Ubuntu Gutsy onto a Dell Inspiron 8200, when the
install CD runs it eventually just throws a kernel bug and an invalid op
code.

Any idea why this might happen or how to fix it?

The cd might be corrupt.

The best bet would be to download ubuntu and make a new cd again.

I will have to try that... Hopefully that works as I don't like using
Windows.

Please make sure that the ISO you DL is burned at a 10X speed. Fast is not
better when it comes to huge amount of data on a CDR. Next you want to make
sure that the system is to boot to CDROM first. If you live in the states you
can stop by like a mom and pop computer store or even best buy and ask for a
FREE copy of Ubuntu. Ubie does a mass email to computer sellers to get the to
use Ubie. Here is Ubie link on your LT
