Ubuntu 7.04 on G3 "Clamshell" iBook ?

The installer runs fine,until I get to step 7 where it starts the
install ... it always freezes at 15% "Detecting File systems".
I have tried going through the installer using both the "Manual"
and "Guided" disk partitioning options, however the installer
always "Freezes" (As does the mouse and just about everything
else!!) at the 15% marker on "Detecting File systems" ...

Can anyone help me please ? I've run out of ideas on how to get
this to install !

I had the same trouble. I did a lot of reading in the forums but
nothing helped. A local gal showed me her imac and she had 6.06 on it.
Fiesty - though some say it can be done - doesn't install well for me.

I haven't encountered that problem in my Linux/Mac experiences, though I
did run into trouble creating a bootable filesystem on an iMac. I
needed to use the alternate installation CD with the text-based installer.

Can you tell me where I can get 6.06 for PPC as I can't find it on
the Ubuntu site ?
