Ubuntu 12.04 LTS/file properties

how can I change entries of the "open with tab" of "file properties" in 12.04
LTS?
Backround: I installed java jdk from Oracle but this programm doesn´t appears in
properties tab and the open with onother application tab to change Oracle to
open a jar-file as default.
Within this tab there seems to be no possibility to browse for another
application (as in former times?).
Strange: the IcedTea Java Webstart entry remains still I deiinstalled it and it
opens Java from Oracle!

Don't know if this is what you want but.

try system settings>details>default Applications.
