pc noise

Date: Dec 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 359

While using ubuntu 9.10 my pc noise was fairly low, but in 10.4 I have found the
cpu is slightly noisier, although I know for sure it must have some kind of
temperature/fan speed running as it isnt as noisy as it could be, is there
anything I can look into specificaly? I have a AMD 3700+ 64 bit proc. although I
am runnning 32 version of ubuntu.

Now that the hot weather has arrived in Toronto, my computer is also making a
lot more fan noise than before. I haven't changed my OS at all.

You could download lm-sensors, run sensors-detect, and, after a reboot, sensors.
