No graphical login!

I lost my graphical login/shutdown.
I run 8.04LTS with Gnome. I have to enter my login name/PW and type
startx. How do I restore the graphical login?? This is weird. I've been
running Ubuntu for months with no problems.

If you can get back into Gnome. You can go into system admin login window.
