Default Video Player

Today, I installed Ubuntu Studio on a Dell Inspiron 9200 (awesomely
smooth installation, BTW) and did the Medibuntu additions for
libdvdcss2 and win32codecs (yeah, yeah - I know) and then installed
VLC video player. I put a DVD in and Totem Player autoran but I would
rather have VLC as the default media player. How do I change the
system so that's the default?

When I right click on the icon, I only get Open & Browse Folder. Both
options open the DVD as a folder.

System / Preferences / Removable Drives and Media

then multimedia.

I removed totem so that is likely why I got an "open with" menu option
