mp3 player and CD mp3 ripper ?

Date: Jan 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 375

I have a dedicated PC for Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.

I need to be able to rip from CD to mp3 format and also play the mp3
files.

I appreciate that the mp3 codecs are restricted.

What I need is a program or programs that are simple to install.

Can anyone make any suggestions please ?

once you have the codecs installed soundjuicer will be able to rip for
you and rhythmbox will play or rip them for you. both are default apps.

Recently I have become fond of amarok as a player which is installable
through the add/remove applications tab at the bottom of your apps menu

If you enable extra repos you can do it by synaptic.
