I must be missing something. I don't see anything here about Java, and I
don't see anything to be concerned about. What am I overlooking?

These aren't the links you sent before.

By the way, how are you using Incredimail under Linux?

Answer #5    Answered On: Feb 11

not sure what happened but my web browser is not working (2.0.0.6+1).
when launched, it gives me this error:

Firefox is already running but it is not responding. To open a new
window........., or restart your system.

I shutdown and restarted, it still does not work. I reinstalled thru
the synaptic package manager, and re-launched, it still does not work.
removed the firefox, and again reinstalled, still does not work. i ran
out of option.

i went to the mozilla size, the latest version is the 2.0.0.7,
downloaded but could not figure out how to install. and i can't mark
the firefox 2.0.0.6+1 in the synaptic manager to get updated with the
latest version.

i need help. thanks for the support.

fyi - i am now using the epiphany (GNOME web browser) which i just
installed. but i would like to have the firefox back.

Try using the kill command if it is still in process, and then try
running it again. That should do it.

Answer #7    Answered On: Feb 11

i run launched again the firefox and got the same error pop-up.

used the kill xxxx command, but it killed the error pop-up. i think
there are now missing files in the firefox but not sure what. as i
have done the reinstall earlier but to no avail.

btw, the error pop-up is like this in the command line:

/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin

when i killed this process, the error pop-up is shutdown.

what should i do next. and thanks.

Answer #8    Answered On: Feb 11

If you do not have any important files on your computer you could always do
a fresh install. As for not fresh intalling Ubuntu...hmmm...perhaps install
epiphany and search online on google as to what others have discovered
having the same, or similar problems. Also...what is this (+1) thing you
speak of? I am running the same thing, but minus the +1. Maybe you got
into the Gutsy suppositories?

Answer #9    Answered On: Feb 11

sorry but i have Xubuntu 7.04 (i got a PII 450Mhz) and i got the
firefox installed version "2.0.0.6+1-0ubuntu1" from the synaptic
manager. before doing the fresh install of the Xubuntu, i am
installing the following additional firefox files:

firefox-dbg
firefox-gnome-support
firefox-launchpad-plugin

if this will still not work, i will do a fresh install of the Xubuntu.

Answer #10    Answered On: Feb 11

it did not work... if i do a fresh install of the Xubuntu, would i
just pop-in the CD-ROM and follow the rest of the instructions.
