I used SimpleBackUp last night to backup my /home directory and it
totaled 27.8GB which is just under the 28GB my second hd shows as
available.

I went though on the SimpleBackUp Screen and said backup ALL under
/home but, there is a file called Excludes and in that file it has this:

(lp1
S'\\.mp3'
p2
aS'\\.avi'
p3
aS'\\.mpeg'
p4
aS'\\.mpg'
p5
aS'\\.mkv'
p6
aS'\\.ogg'
p7
aS'\\.ogm'
p8
aS'\\.tmp'
p9
aS'/home/[^/]+?/\\.thumbnails/'
p10
aS'/home/[^/]+?/\\.Trash'
p11
aS'/home/[^/]+?/\\..+/[cC]ache'
p12
a.

Most I dont care about but, the ogg, mpg, mpeg, avi and mp3 - I do. Im
not sure why these would be excluded. I mean, you obviously want to
backup all your movies and music. Why would it exclude it?

"It" did not exclude them. The programmer who set the default
configuration did. Why? dunno.

easy enough to copy that to exludes.back and edit it so it does not
pass over media files.

I think Ill just copy the files over by hand for this backup. My
backup is 26ish GB and my /home is 29ish GB so that means it only
compressed 3gb.
