Yes , you do the following steps for to remove SCSI hard disk and to add IDE
hard disk.

First add new virtual machine from HomeàNew Virtual Machine à then click on
Nextà choose Typicalà NextàSelect linux àchoose ubuntu from drop down
listàNextàselect Location where u want to install VMVàNextàUse bridged
networkingàDisk Size keep as it isà Finish
Then Righ Click on Ubuntu àclick on Settingà select Hard Disk à click on
Removeà then click on AddàNextàselect Hard DiskàNextà choose Create a new
virtual disk àselect IDEàKeep disk space 8.0 GB and Tick on Allocate all disk
space nowàFinish.
