Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Feb 05

I have done that and share the printer also. I don't have a password on my
shared drive so I can just mount it from the places on the top panel.
Once I made the change to smb.conf I click on Places, then on Network
and the Windows network shows up, I click on that and the PC which
has the shared drive shows up and I click on the PC name and the shared
drive, and it mounts. I don't know if it would ask for the password if
it was
password protect, maybe.
When I want to connect to the printer I enter System, Administration, and
Printing, then is shows a window and I can add from there, and another
window
shows up to show a local printer or network printer. Under network
printer one
that shows Network printer bia SAMBA. From there you can find the
printer being
shared. Or you should see it anyway.

Let me know if I can help in any way. Not sure I can but maybe.
