Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Jan 02

Someone recommended 'bitpim' software, however when I went to the Synaptic
Package Manager and found the bitpim software page -- it states that it is
for CDMA mobile phones.

My new phone is NOT a CDMA phone. In Australia (where I am) Telstra (the
Australian Telephone Company) are stopping the CDMA Network and on 28
January 2008 all CDMA phones will no longer work!!! That's why I need to get
my new mobile phone. ( I also have a Telstra CDMA phone -- my old mobile
phone, which is effectively useless now )

Telstra are promoting their new NextG Network -- however, I am not using
that network.!!!

I hope that this makes sense!!!

My new phone is a SAGEM my411x mobile phone. I don't really understand HOW
it works. I simply thank God that it does work.

My phone uses the Crazy John's Mobile Phone network -- if the means anything
to you?!? You can find out more about the Mobile Phone network by visiting
the Crazy John's website:

http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/

or you can find out about my phone by visiting the SAGEM website:

The URL pasted below is the SAGEM company's website and the page about my
model of phone.

www.sagem.com/mobiles/index.php?id=05&prod=205

Please note also that I have a "USB Bluetooth Dongle" plugged into my USB
Port on my desktop pc (this computer) -- however, I don't have a clue how it
works. The ppl in the Crazy John's Mobile Phone shop, where I purchased my
new SAGEM phone etc etc assures me that it will work with Linux. But I don't
know how to use it.!!!

My hoping that I'll be able to transfer pictures, videos, and phone numbers
etc between this computer and my mobile phone.

I've never done that kind of thing before and I'm still learning how to use
the SAGEM phone and also learning how to use Linux UBUNTU.
