First question i have for you what evil operating system did you use before
ubuntu? was it xp or vista?
If you used xp and if you want to try a linux operating system that comes close
to xp try kubuntu you can download it and use it as a live user without changing
anything on your hard drive if you like it just select install it will
reformat your drive and step it up no anti virus is needed if you want theres
a virus scanner in add and remove and a firewall called firestarter you can add

I used kubuntu after my ordeal with vista it reminded me of xp in certain
aspects was easy to understand and use.
