Firefox v3.0.6 X and _ buttons missing top right corner

I need to know why the close and minimize buttons have disapeared for
Mozilla Firefox v3.0.6. When I hit f11 they come back in a hover over
setting where they pop up when you hover over the area. I want them
back in a permanent setting so everytime I open a Firefox window they
are there. Also I lost seeing the minimized windows at the bottom of
the screen.

I found a bug report 301599 that seems like what you describe:

You may need to adjust your screen resolution from the System /Preferences.
