To prohibit firefox from going into offline mode when loosing a
connection, go to "about:config" in the address bar and search for
"network.manage-offline-status" set that entry to false. If you don't
have that entry, right-click on the config page and select new ->
bolean. Give it the name in quotes above, click on, then set to
false. That should take care of the problem.
