This is exactly the page I was on earlier, but instead of downloading I
used the synaptic way at the bottom of the page.
This time I downloaded the deb package and was promptly told it
was the same version I already have installed. It gave me the option
to reinstall, which I allowed it to do since obviously something isn't
working properly.

Now please forgive my ignorance but where did you put the VB ? I
just tried the terminal and was told command not found. This is
sooooooooo frustrating.
