Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Feb 12

Yes and no, I was not brought up on a diet of MS, and
the only work with Apple was maintaining a group of Apple II 'boxes'
that we used to generate colour/exposure control punched tapes for
high speed cinefilm printing. My bare bones Mepis has had extras
added to it and as Roy said, the repository is a bit limited. I can
live with that

Mepis is used most for my basic day to day computer activity and,
dare I say it, I have to revert even further to use MS XP for a couple
of jobs that refuse to run on Wine or CrossOver. I can see no point
installing one of the Virtual systems so that I can run XP on a Linux
machine. I have XP on a midle-aged Toshiba Portege that will probably
outlast me.
