Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 04

Getdeb is useful, but it is not part of the official Ubuntu repositories and
as such should be used with caution. I use it to install packages not in the
regular repositories, but then I uncheck it in the sources in Synaptic.
Otherwise I get messages to upgrade packages from conflicting sources, the
ones in Ubuntu and the Getdeb ones which are frequently different versions.

All of the packages listed in your message are available from Ubuntu. You
are asking for dependency problems if you install Ubuntu packages from
outside sources. Use Synaptic to install whatever you want in Getdeb. Then
go to the Repositories and uncheck the Getdeb source. Now you won't have a
problem. Then Reload and you will just get Ubuntu official updates.

You can get similar problems with Medibuntu and some PPAs. I think that the
errors you are seeing resides with Getdeb's servers being busy and
unavailable.
