You will have a folder called /home.backup in the root file system and
that contains the data originally in /home that you've now got in your
newly created partition.

If the data in the new /home is OK - i.e. it's all been copied - then
you can delete the /home.backup folder and regain the space in the
root partition, that should stop the errors about lack of space
