Apparently it was something about the D-Link DWA125 wireless USB adapter
not being compatible with 12.10. Even though several routers showed up,
including the one I have the PW to, the PW did not work.

This afternoon I bought a Belkin N150 adapter and it worked. I just plugged
it in, booted and entered the PW and I was online. Then I rebooted with the
Live DVD and re-installed 12.10 over the old 12.10 partition.
