Question Answered By: Adah Miller   on Dec 14

APM (Advanced Power Management) is the ancestor of ACPI. It was used
for power management. Mostly usefull on laptops. See the following
link http://tuxmobil.org/apm_linux.html

And ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) is a newer
specification that included power management. It has replaced APM on
newer laptops.
