I'd be looking first at environmental things rather than software
incompatibilities. Are the file permissions right? Have you got the path and
workbook name exactly right? Is the workbook even there? Is everything on the
machine "the same" as the one that is known to work with 2003? Does Access work
properly by itself on the machine?

Chances are that its an environmental difference of a "silly" error.
