You base it on Iran? Iran has its own method:) and that's why most of projects  fail.
RUP is not some thing foolish. If you see documentation is useless in your project then ignore it. RUP is not equal to documentation. But it suggest many document types. You don't need so don't documents so don't use it.Once again RUP is not only documentation.
You may don't need to read the documentations but it doesn't say your managers, ... also don't need them.
